Joe Thompson’s rollicking, foot stomping Yankee Twang was named one of the Top 25 Country albums of 2010. Read
Joe was also named WINNER of WNYC’s Battle of the Boroughs earlier this year. The Battle of the Boroughs shook up New York City—thousand of registered votes, one hundred and sixty-four artists, countless genres of music, five boroughs, six packed nights of music-lovers and Joe Thompson and the Comfortable Catastrophe from Queens was awarded top artist in the Battle. As winner, he performed a killer set at WNYC’s The Greene Space (watch the entire show here) and played at NYC’s SummerStage.

Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds
Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds made a big splash this year with the release of their self-titled debut album on Modern Vintage Recordings.
Indie Media Magazine called it “The Best Album You Probably Didn’t Hear” in 2010. Read

Misty Boyce
Misty Boyce released her beautiful indie pop self-titled album in 2010 on Modern Vintage Recordings.
Her song “Trouble” was named The Best Song of 2010 by Now I’ve Heard Everything. Read
Misty was also nominated for 2010′s Best New Female Artist AND Best Debut Album of 2010 on CTN Music. Read
The haunting stop animation video for Misty’s song “Dutch Girls” was also named Video of The Day by Spinner.com earlier this year.

The Whispering Tree‘s unique blend of folk rock earned them tremendous praise in 2010.
Their album Go Call the Captain was named one of the top ten albums of 2010 (#4!) by Talent in Borders. Read
