Emily Zuzik Featured in The Huffington Post
19 JunCongratulations to Emily Zuzik for the amazing feature by Laura Cococcia in The Huffington Post today!
Says the author: “Why I love her: she believes in the power of intuition to guide her, adoring her inspirations, but not a slave to the rules of what must define a songwriter. Emily and I had a chance to connect and talk more about the world behind her story. I’m thrilled to share it with you and hope that aspiring musicians — and writers — can visualize the vibrancy in the template she’s created for herself, a true lesson for me in what creativity can look like.”

Introducing: Emily Zuzik
19 AprHappy to announce the addition of our newest client: Emily Zuzik!
A prolific singer/songwriter, rocker and sought-after collaborator, Emily Zuzik’s wide-ranging career has allowed her to shift fluidly from acoustic folk to alternative rock and everything in between. A fixture in the New York City music scene for nearly a decade, Zuzik will release her soulful rock seventh studio album, The Wild Joys of Living, this summer.
“These songs are part of a collection of work that I am very proud of and feel needed to come out,” said Zuzik. “I have a lot of material, and I’m tired of keeping it in notebooks or on demos on my laptop. It was time for these songs to take flight.”
Recorded at Brooklyn’s Galuminumfoil Studios with producer Chris Cubeta in May 2010, the blues-influenced album was mixed by Josh Kessler at Bushwick Studio in early 2011. Wes Hutchinson (guitars), Brian Kileen (bass) and drummer Ryan Vaughn (currently recording with Fugees producer John Forte’s band) back Zuzik’s gritty, Americana-fueled rock guitar and sexy Sheryl Crow-tinged vocals.
Zuzik, who “mixes the urgent intensity of Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos with the easy cool of Kim Gordon,” (Performing Songwriter Magazine) is also a featured vocalist on “The Low Hum,” off of Moby’s upcoming album Destroyed, out May 17th, 2011.
“Emily’s vocals brought a unique dark and melodic texture to “The Low Hum,” said Moby. “I’ve wanted to work with her ever since she auditioned for a rock project I started. She has remarkable talent and passion for all kinds of music. I’m excited to hear her new record,” said the multiple Grammy award nominee.
Zuzik has toured extensively in the US and UK and with the release of The Wild Joys of Living this summer, she solidifies her reputation as a sought-after writer, collaborator and performer.
“A hefty voice in a small frame, and more R&B and pop than folk in her sound, are to this Brooklyn blond’s credit.” – Chuck Eddy, Village Voice
“Emily Zuzik’s voice ranges from a sweet and alluring croon to a low growl that would charm even the most world-weary.” - Time Out New York
