Jen Hirsh’s debut full length album is now available via iTunes!

“…Hirsh has teamed up with songwriter Adam Tressler to create an album that truly reflects who she is. Debut single ‘The Better Half’ is a folk-inspired, rolling pop lament – banjos and engagingly simplistic songwriting hinting at something quite interesting.” - The Girls Are Blog

If you’re in LA, check out her album release show on March 5th at Hotel Cafe!

JEN HIRSH DEBUT ALBUM MYSELF IN TWO OUT MARCH 1ST
HOTEL CAFE CD RELEASE SHOW (LA) MARCH 5TH

About “The Better Half”:

“When “The Better Half” was first written, it was performed only as a duo and was sort of an underdog song,” said Jen. “But as time went on, it came to life in the recording studio with its chugging, train-like, rolling feeling. Even the album title, Myself in Two, is a lyric from “The Better Half.” The song has completely overcome its underdog status as the first single from Myself in Two.”

About Jen Hirsh:

Evoking comparisons to the music of Sara Bareilles, John Mayer and Sufjan Stevens, Hirsh achieved a blip of mainstream success following her jazzy performance of “Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead” on Season 9 of American Idol. Looking back on her AI performance and a tumultuous year that included a painful breakup and a cross-country move, the now California based singer/songwriter says it was all worth it. “Everything feels like it was meant to happen,” she said, “because the end result is perfect.”

Myself in Two was written by guitarist and songwriter Adam Tressler, and is a collection of 10 songs that capture what Hirsh experienced over the past year: heartbreak, feelings of self doubt and, as Hirsh says, “living in LA with my heart in New York.” The album features an all-star cast including producerMax Coane (Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin), Patrick Warren on keyboard and piano (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow), and world-renowned mixing engineer Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney).

A truly incomparable talent and beauty, Hirsh grew up in Southern California and began singing and performing as a child. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Hirsh has since shared the stage with icons such as Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon, Gloria Estefan, Steve Gadd, Abe Laboriel, and Michel Camilo. Currently based out of Los Angeles, Hirsh’s songs and performances possess an undeniable and universal appeal that have captivated and mesmerized audiences from coast to coast.
