At the age of 15, Sahara Smith placed second in a contest for young songwriters sponsored by A Prairie Home Companion– and she never looked back. Last year, Smith (now 22) released her debut album Myth of the Heart, a slow paced sophisticated and dreamy alt folk album. It was praised by big names like The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal and Paste. Smith made her national television debut on Late Night with David Letterman in November and has recently been on the cover of austinwoman magazine.
Check out her music videos for “The Real Thing” and ”Thousand Secrets” and if you’re in Austin, TX she’ll perform at the 2nd Annual Austin Icon Awards on September 9th.

Full Disclosure: Sahara Smith is a great artist but we don’t work for her. We just dig her tunes.
