Q: What’s it like to work with FeelingAnxious PR?
A: It’s better than a bike ride through Central Park, followed by ice cream and cupcakes. Um, maybe. But it’s absolutely better than working with a huge company that can’t give you the personal attention you rightly expect.
If you work with us, you can expect humans that will treat you like humans. You can expect a sense of humor! You can expect a positive attitude! You can also expect highly educated and experienced professionals that will create and implement a public relations campaign that is both strategic and creative. You can expect us to communicate your information truthfully and in a timely manner to the press. You an expect us to provide you with press hits as they roll in (not a monthly report that keeps you in the dark) and you can expect us to provide an honest and accurate account of billable expenses.
Now, where are those cupcakes?
Q: What does FA PR expect from me?
A: We love working with you. We really do. But there are a few things you can do that will make our job easier. We’d love for you to respond quickly to our requests for information and approval. We’d love your cooperation in setting up media interviews. Very importantly, we’d like you to be on time for appointments (phone interviews, in-person interviews) with the news media. And we’d love your honesty so we can do our job well. Oh, and timely payment of invoices would be the icing on the (cup)cake.
Q: When should I contact FA PR to get the ball rolling?
A: Depending on what your needs are, you should drop us a line four to six months prior to the launch of your album, tour, business or event. Media outreach takes time, but when planned properly, you can expect great results. As they say, timing is everything!
Q: What kind of results should I expect?
A: Results depend on the campaign designed for you. You can expect anything from blog hits to story placements with a handful of influential newspapers and magazines, to a myriad of hits across all media platforms. But, there are no guarantees of coverage.
Q: How quickly will I see results?
A: Results vary and are dependent on many factors, including how familiar the media is with you or your company, how the story is being told, what your competitors are up to and what other news is going on at that time. If your target media list is comprised of long-lead publications (magazines), it could take three months to even a year for your story to run (if at all). If your target list is primarily daily newspapers and blogs, results could be seen as early as a few weeks to a few months.
Q: What is the cost for your services?
A: The cost depends on the type and length of the campaign. We work on a monthly retainer fee at a minimum of four months. Let us know what your needs are and we can provide you with a quote.
Q: Are there out-of-pocket expenses not included in the monthly retainer fee?
A: Additional out-of-pocket expenses are billed directly to the client and may include: fax/duplication/printing fees, FedEx/UPS, messenger service, office/press kit/stationery supplies, and postage.
Transportation to and from meetings and/or interviews and any travel or hotel expenses will also be billed to the client, with prior approval.
Q: What services are not included in FA PR’s fees?
A: The following are not included in our monthly retainer fee:
- Clipping and video monitoring services and media leads
- Press release wire services
- Electronic Press Kits
- Video Production
- Web and graphic design
- Photography (although we’re happy to make referrals)
- Event services including event planner, catering, invitations, furniture rentals, etc (we’re also happy to make referrals)
- International public relations
Q: How is public relations different from advertising?
A: Short and sweet: Advertising is paid. In advertising, you place an ad and you pay for what you get. PR is about persuasion and credibility — and there are no guarantees.
Q: Do you accept payment for “Pay for Play/Performance”?
A: Absolutely not. This is an unfair practice that does not compensate a public relations professional for their time and efforts. You expect to be paid appropriately for your expertise and time, and so do we.
If you have any further questions, please drop us a line. We’re happy to provide you with all the answers you need to make an informed decision. And if you decide to work with us, cupcakes might be in order. We’re just sayin’.
